Let’s TAP!
National Library
3 - 17 June 2006

When old calligraphers write on ceramic tiles, transforming the mundane grid into the backdrop for words written with water. When curiosity gets the best of him and he traverses the streets of LA with a digicam and LA-SG comes together in a fantastic visual simulacrum. When the photographer materialises her shots of Singapore in the darkness of her bedroom. When words from different places form a new storyline. That is when we will be talking about places.
This multimedia exhibition forms part of our dialogue with the public and with each other about the essentials of placemaking. TAP’s exhibitors will be showcasing various methods of reading our surroundings, in hope that the public becomes empowered to move beyond the perfunctory glance of the space he inhabits to consciously engage it.
The official opening of this exhibition will be held on Saturday 3 June 2006 at 5pm at the Level 8 Promenade, National Library. It will be open to the public from 3 to 17 June 2006 (10am – 9pm). Admission is free.
